The Kennedys & The New Life Children’s Home

We miss our Peruvian family and friends very much! They had a great Christmas at the Children’s Home and we look forward to sharing pictures with you soon on the New Life Children’s Home facebook page. Chelene does a great job with that!

Last Friday we took in another baby only a month old. The baby’s mother is 14 and was violated. Praise the Lord for “New Life!”

We are in awe of how the Lord continues to meet our needs. Among other things, He has given us a van to drive while we are here visiting, safety while traveling thousands of miles, and many friends praying for us.  How blessed we are!

Thank you all for your prayers and keeping up with our family and the ministries God has given to us. Please pray for a new ministry that God is allowing us to start soon. “Feed Their Hunger” is a portable soup kitchen used to feed both the physical and spiritual hunger throughout Peru(and eventually the world!). There is so much that the Lord has already done to bless this work and we are excited to get this rolling in March! Our short trip to the states  went wonderful. A couple of great friends bought me a Flip video recorder for my birthday to carry around with me, and it is awesome! If you don’t have one and you love life and all the crazy things that can happen in just a day you need one of these! Actually if you don’t like life this might help give you something fun to do and laugh at later. My son Joshua and I got to film each other having fun together as we spent some great quality(father and son) time together.

We so enjoyed the revival meeting and felt so blessed to be a part of it. The Lord blessed each and every service in a special way! Thank you Mill Creek for your kindness and for giving me the great honor of speaking. You have become very special to us!

I also preached a youth rally and several youth and adults got saved! This was fun and the message really hit home to me personally! “Prepare for any battle.”

Joshy and I also went with some great friends to a college football team…North Carolina won too!!!!!!

We also went to visit Taylor Sexton at College and even beat her at put-put…it is normally basketball I beat her at! It was a blessing to spend time with her.

Last week we had three great friends visiting with us(Dr. Kevin Willis, Bill Haney, and Tim Robinson). We seen tons of people as we did a medical campaign in villages, a school, and other areas. The people loved having us just care for them without asking anything in return. We saw so many people each day suffering from things like parasites, colds, caugh, and other problems that did not have the funds to go see a Doctor. We also saw several saved!

As I send this update to you I’m just outside the High Jungle with several friends(including two of my sons Mikey and Zachy).

Yesterday we went to an Indian village and gave out Bibles. Today we will be going into the Jungle again to give out more Bibles, glasses, and tracts. Please pray for us as we try to reach others with the Word of God.

I have a special prayer request for you today. Last night someone broke into our home while Chelene and three of our children were sleeping. Praise the Lord all the kids were sleeping with my wife and no one harmed them!  They did take our computer and lots of important information. What is importants is that our family is safe. We had more adoptions go through.

We took in a couple more babies into the Children’s Home.

I met with two judges in order to help with three of the children who have been in our Children’s Home for several years. The meetings went wonderful and I left knowing that God had done something that I could not. We are praying that soon they will be with their family.

I got to personally lead several to Christ.

Joshy translated for Peggy as they led about 6 people to Christ.

We hosted two more wonderful groups who came and served others every day! Some in those groups led others to Christ for the first time ever…what a blessing to see this happen!

While visiting on one our bus routes with Pastor Doug and his church group, the large bus we used pulled a cable down that fed electricity to one of the shanty homes. When the husband and wife came to talk with us about it we were able to share the love of Christ with them and they both trusted Christ into their hearts and lives! This same lady said “we live to live, but don’t have anything to live for.” The light was turned on for them that day… and yes, we got the electricity back on too!

On another bus route we have a small soup kitchen that we try and help as often as we can, to help feed those without anything. The thatch roof was falling in, and both groups replaced it with a new one of better material!

We had a special youth night on the 10th. Brother Carl Keith preached and we had around 15 saved.

We fed supper(spaghetti, bread, salad, and ice-cream) to a group of Military Soldiers and Colonels then gave them the Gospel…on Base! This was incredible to see. When we got to the Base they already had tables and chairs set up outside for us to serve them and have a meeting.

We fed supper(spaghetti, chips, and ice-cream) to one of the(over 40) holding centers where abandoned girls, toddlers, and babies are held until Judges find a Children’s Home or “institution” to place them in. Many only end up back on the streets with no family at all. We fed the children and staff before sharing the Word of God with them. Many received the gift of Salvation! Get the word out now, they asked us to come back with PIZZA!

We gave out tens of thousands of Bibles and tracts on the streets of downtown Lima over the last two weeks!

Seen over 400 people publicly profess to accept Christ as Savior over the last two weeks!

We went into another public school that we had never been in and fed over 200 lunches. My wife shared the Gospel with them in a large group and the majority, along with teachers, prayed the sinners prayer!!!!

We went twice giving out Bibles, Blankets, and Sandwiches to the homeless sleeping on the streets of Lima. Many sad stories turned good as one after another received Christ into their hearts!

Had over 20 people saved in each of the last two Sunday morning services! Hallelujah!!!!!

Last Sunday morning (11th)we baptized over 20 including our oldest two sons(Mikey and Joshy). Mommy and Daddy are so proud!

I knew that I would be traveling for the next two weeks, so I got in all kinds of hugs and kisses from my awesome family!

My daughter Mikayla and I had a special “Daddy and Princess Date” and we invited Mommy to go along too…I’m broke!

My Birthday was the 12th and everyone made it very special for me. Both the Church and the Children’s Home had parties for me!

Well, I know that these last two weeks were filled with these and other wonderful things that I fail to remember, But God has the details and one day we will meet everyone that was reached as we serve Him together in Heaven!

After lunch we took the group to visit one of our five bus routes(where Granny lives). This is an area where there are shanty homes all around the sides of  the mountains. We met a lady who lives there, and she got saved along with her husband (I’ll tell the story later). She made a statement and here it is: “We live to live, but don’t know what we are living for.” Now she has Jesus as her Savior, so I was able to say  ”now you know what you are living for…JESUS!”

It is about 2:30 in the morning and I just returned home from passing out Bibles, blankets, tracts, and sandwiches to the homeless. We had a tremendous time and give God the glory for all those that received Christ as Savior! I’m too tired to write now, but trust me…it was incredible!!!!

We started the day off with an awesome crowd at church. Brother Doug Ramsey preached( I translated) and he allowed the Lord to use him in a tremendous way. The message is worth sharing here for sure. His points were 1) God Formed us. 2) Sin Deformed us. 3) Jesus (can) transformed us. No one left without learning more about God’s incredible love for us, Satan’s horrible plan to destroy us, and Jesus’ awesome power to save us! There were 22 adults that prayed the sinners prayer in this service alone!!!

It was also a special time for us to say goodbye/hast luego(see you later) to Sister Peggy Moran. She has been here in Peru with us for the last 6 months. God has greatly used her in every area of the ministries we have going on here. She is so loved by everyone here. We presented her with a beautiful plaque, several ladies in the church wrote a song and they sang it to her, the church also gave her a gift and shared many testimonies of how God has used her to encourage them in the ministry. A group of ladies from the Children’s Home (including my wife) sang the song “Friends are friends forever” while we showed a power point presentation of Sister Peggy working with the people over these last 6 months. It was awesome and we will miss Sister Peggy! She takes care of the Children’s Home needs stateside and works so hard getting updates out to supporters.

We took the group that is here visiting to Pachacutec and had a wonderful time soul winning in a park before the evening service there. Bro. Tim Harville preached and several were saved. Again and again God blessed.

Other ministry news is that we saw God working all day. First we met with two Judges who are working with the declaration decree for three siblings in NLCH and God really touched both their hearts to help in a great way. Please pray that soon these children will be with their Christian family that loves them so much. Also pray for the other children in NLCH that they too will soon be with the families God has for them.

Tonight we went to the largest military base here in Lima and fed around a hundred soldiers supper, then we gave them the Gospel. Most all of them professed to have received Christ as Savior!!!!! Hallelujah!

Tomorrow we are going to a holding tank were abandoned babies and girls(who are found in places like the trash or on the streets) are held until they are placed by a Judge into a Children’s Home(or institution). We are going to serve them supper and share the Gospel with them. Please pray for God’s blessings.
